Imagineer Systems is pleased to announce that leading German post production facility, PICTORION das werk GmbH, is the latest European customer to purchase a license of its monet software.

"It will be used for many projects and we have put it to work to immediately on a feature film," explains Jan Kruse at das werk. "On that we had a lot of complicated tracking shots to finish, which would have been impossible without monet."

Kruse says that monet helps solve problems in a few hours that were a compositor's number one nightmare beforehand, especially objects moving out of frame when applying four-point tracks. This has great benefits all the way through the production pipeline.

"monet enables us to just say 'yes' on set more often," he says. "If you are supervising and you know that budgets are tight, you usually avoid any risky moving shots and order that the camera be locked off. Now, however, we are happy to offer the DoP a bit more freedom and do the tracking later with monet."
