10th September 2004 -

Imagineer Systems, announced today that leading film post-production company Capital FX has purchased 3 licenses of monet and 3 licenses of mokey for its digital department. The two systems based on Imagineer's unique 2D planar tracking will be used by Capital FX for providing tracking data and elements for compositing in a variety of features including The Polar Express from Warner Bros, an animated feature created by Imageworks.

Capital FX was founded in 1990 and now employs over 40 staff, the London based company specialises in all types of film work from optical to digital effects as well as providing a full design department with in-house graphic artists. A large proportion of Capital FX's work is film versioning for the leading distributors, both feature and trailer work, which involves recreating title sequences and effects. The monet and mokey systems will provide Capital FX with the tracking capabilities required to meet the demands and quality of film versioning for its clients.

Rus Wetherell at Capital FX comments on the purchase: "monet and mokey compliment each other very well giving us the tools we need to finish the job, on time and on budget. As we are quite often the last stage before bulk printing and distribution into the cinemas our deadlines are always very tight and always non-negotiable. We rarely have the luxury of trying out different methods to solve a problem and as clients don't usually attend, the first time they might see it would be on film, so we need quality and accuracy first time around."
